Any performance issues if choosing NOT to use scene view page?

Post here if you are having a problem with or a question about forte that is not about a plugin or audio/MIDI hardware.

Any performance issues if choosing NOT to use scene view page?

Postby Mr Beverage » Mon Dec 28, 2015 12:37 pm

Hi All,
This may be a dumb question but I'm wondering if I choose NOT to use Scene View page while gigging, would there be any cpu/memory performance degradation or issues? (I don't use the song or set features. Just 1 scene per song.)
Also, how much more memory IS used by the song/set features?
Thanks,
Mr. B.

There should be no notable difference in CPU load or memory usage in the described scenarios.

I haven't used scene view for ten years. I have also one scene per song so I also skipped songs or setlists. This was all organized by patches on my masterkeyboard and MIDI Prog CHanges to Forte between songs = scenes.

Only recently I switched to Forte 4. Now I'm using scene view and setlists, and omit programming and ordering patches on my masterkeyboard. Much easier. No observed differences in CPU or memory.

Best,
Angel

I wouldn't think there'd be a difference as well, because I think SceneView is actually running all the time in the background anyway. You're simply hiding and unhiding it.
