Is anyone actually reading this?? I've asked about using sidechaining in Forte before, but complete radio-silence so far

Post here if you are having a problem with or a question about forte that is not about a plugin or audio/MIDI hardware.

I've paid for Forte because I thought it suits my needs, but support has been lacking so far.
I just want to be able to sidechain a compressor so I can duck vocals to a bassline (or the other way around).
It's not an unreasonable request; sidechaining a compressor is a very basic need.

Is there any way to do sidechain compression using Forte, or should I abandon and look for other software?

I don't think this is supported out-of-the-box.
You could look into hosting the plugins involved in (the free VST version of) energyXT, which you then in turn host in forte.

Maybe this kvr thread could help
