Using other audio apps with Forte

Postby bburtin » Thu Oct 09, 2003 5:36 pm

Is anyone using other audio apps simultaneously with Forte? I tried playing MP3's in WinAmp while having Forte running and it caused my audio driver to croak (I'm using the USB-ASIO driver).

Has anyone figured out a way to do this? One thing I've been thinking of is trying to use something like Virtual Audio Cable, now that Forte is on the verge of officially having audio inputs. But I don't know if that would work, if Virtual Audio Cable doesn't explicitly support ASIO or WDM.

If you are running forte in ASIO mode, the ability to share audio output will be directly up to the audio card. If you are using WDM, the technology only allows one app to open an output at a time. Other apps will be silent.

You should find this to be true no matter what ASIO or WDM application you use.

You should try this, a free vsti mp3 player :

It works great for me, very useful for rehearsals ...
