Latency information

Postby Burtan » Mon Mar 12, 2012 3:35 pm

Hi,

I have just a little question to the latency information given by Forte in the options menu. Is it the overall latency, means input + processing + output? This is about 5ms in my case. Kore says input is 2ms, processing 1ms and ouput 2ms. Cubase sais input 2.5ms, output 2.5ms.
Thanks :)

It's supposed to reflect as correctly as possible the real-world latency. I don't remember exactly how this is calculated (not simply buffersize/samplerate conversion, I mean); there have been discussions about this, and there was quite some testing and measurements being done a while ago, you could search the beta-forums for more information.

PS Kore does it's processing on a PCI card? Then those 1 ms correspond to the PCI-card roundtrip, probably. Otherwise it doesn't make sense to mention "processing time", that's not the way it works!
Life would be much easier if I had the source code.

No Kore works just as Forte but it still shows a processing time
