Mike,

Are you soon envisaged the remap of pitch bend and after touch?

Best regards

you can do it by using virtual midi inputs (VMI) and a midi plugin such as those from

http://jstuff.wordpress.com

(at least aftertouch), for pitchbend you might need to search for another plugin.

Where do you guys feel that the weight of MIDI processing plugin architectures is now? It used to be MFX by cakewalk, but I'm not sure anymore.

If you could choose your 3 favorite MIDI processors, what are they? VST, MFX, other?

VST, I guess.

VST.

I'm not using MIDI plug-in/processors with VMI in Forte right now as they introduce an additional latency by one buffer at least. Is that correct. Mike?

They probably do, however, keep in mind that it takes a full millisecond per byte for a MIDI byte to cross a MIDI cable, and it takes 3 bytes to make a note on, and VMI doesn't suffer that latency. Don't go by math...how does it feel?

And an extra 2ms for the sound to travel from your monitors to your ears (if they're rather close).

MIDI out is processed from a plugin after MIDI in it inserted and audio is processed. This means that the next chance for any plugin AHEAD of that one to get the MIDI events is the next mix cycle. It might still be possible for a plugin BEHIND that one to see the new events in the same cycle.

I'll think about this one...

OK, thanks but what is AHEAD and BEHIND? Order of the modules? Sequence of the plug-ins in one module?
