Hardware 'Test for EHCo' crash

Postby xpander » Sat Jan 31, 2009 4:21 pm

I've read that people are experiencing total stability with forte / ehco, even on the road, but 2.0 will crash whenever I add about 6 or 7 instances of ehco using a Dell single-core P4, Windows XP Pro, and emagic midi interfaces. (No audio, no plug-ins, just ehco) It freezes and I can't even get back into task manager. I've tried it on several PCs.
What kind of hardware are you using that's crash-free?

Are you sure you aren't creating a midi feedback loop? Does it happen before or after setting the output port?

No midi loops. I've been trying to isolate the problem.
Does the demo intentionally stop midi output every 35 seconds for 5 seconds?
(This is happening here)
When I close the demo without a crash a popup says:
The Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime terminated.
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

I'm a little suspicious of Acronis True Image that is running some sort of monitor on the PC.

The EHCo demo does do an all notes off every once in a while (I forget the period).

I'll be watching for any other reports of this. Does it crash in a way that you could submit a crash report?

Does it happen with a different interface? I've read about some problems with emagic's midi interfaces.
Free midi plugins .
