Expression range on the Korg XVP-10 pedal

Postby Sonoacustico » Thu Jan 04, 2007 1:14 pm

Hello people,
I'm dealing with a Korg XVP-10 expression/volume pedal, and an M-Audio Axiom 61 controller. I plug the pedal (Expression Output 1) on the expression jack on the Axiom, and when I test it, the Axiom display shows a 127 value when it's fully pressed, and going down to a value 85 when it's fully unpressed. My idea is to at least to control the attenuation parameter of Brainspawn's automatic fader, which I can do, but also from 85 to 127 values. I just can't find a way in forte to remap those values from 0 to 127. I've checked the controller's expression range, and it's 0 to 127, but the pedal seems to only send from 85 to 127. The pedal has a "Min.Volume" knob, but it has no effect.
I can remap forte's cc to go from 90 to 110 for example, but I can't figure out how to get the attenuation parameter to 0 when the pedal sends the 85 value.

Any help?

Cheers

Claudio

Hi,
I have the same problem with a ROLAND EV5 expression pedal, and a CASIO FZ-1. The CASIO FZ-1 recieves from 25 to 127 aprox. i cant figure how to remap. and the same PEDAL EV5 with an A-90 Works fine (Sends complete midi range from 0 to 127 ).

I suggest to add Forte a VIRTUAL CALIBRATION function, to resolve this problem when we cant RECALIBRATE THE EXPRESSION PEDAL or the keyboard.

Example :
Expression pedal sends_____: 85 to 127
FORTE converts this range to : 0 to 127.

This suggestion would also help me. I have an Open Labs Neko; this unit does not provide a means for adjusting the range of the expression pedal. If Forte could do this instead, that would be tremendous!

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.
