How to block/stop Aftertouch from keyboard controller?

Postby RY1 » Tue Jul 09, 2013 1:32 pm

Is there a way to block or stop aftertouch from keyboard controller from within Forte3?

I am using Garritan Aria Player "Instant Orchestra" and evidently the only way to NOT have it respond to Aftertouch is to NOT SEND IT from the keyboard controller.
This means I will have to switch the controller mid-stream to a different preset to play this plug ( without having this awful feature of "vibrato" that is linked to Aftertouch.
And believe it or not, you cannot turn it off within the plug itself.

I need to keep Aftertouch in my Impulse controller preset for my B3 patches.
So that work around is not an options. I want to avoid using Impulse zones too.

There is bound to be a way to do this in Forte' 3 ....??? Yes????

Thanks much for any help.

I don't THINK Forte can filter out Channel Aftertouch (nor Pitchbend) and as you have noticed you can't do this in Garritan either (I'm really not keen on Garritan for this - its waaaaay too sensitive to play without disabling it on your Interface/Keyboard...)

You can use "MIDI-Ox" to filter out Channel Aftertouch (select "Filter out Data as well as Display") - I THINK you'd need to route your MIDI Interface via a Virtual MIDI cable however e.g. LoopBe1, and use this Virtual MIDI cable in Forte (i.e. disable your keyboard MIDI interface in Forte and enable Virtual device)... It's an option anyway!

Thanks for clarifying.
Too many moving parts. I like to keep it clean.
Ridiculous effect Garritan hard-wired into an otherwise awesome little plugin.
oi.
I guess I'll have to change presets on the controller, sort of a hassle 'live' to remember.

Thanks again,

R

Maybe you find what you are looking for here (did not test any of them):

I mean to have something like that in pizmidi / midiconverter 2...

Good luck, Volker
