NI Kontakt Instrument banks and Forte 2 Problem

Postby Matrix » Sun Mar 17, 2013 1:04 pm

Dear all,

My Brainspawn Forte 2 setting:
- 1 VSTI: NI Kontakt

This NI Kontakt VSTI looks like that:
- 3 Instrument Banks (to be able to split my keyboard in 3 parts)
- Each Instrument Bank contains several instruments

Everything worked fine. I could load my Forte file, run through my scenes and play.

Now the problem started:
I changed the volume of one instrument of my second Instrument Bank, saved the Kontakt Multi, updated the scene and saved everything again as a forte file.
Now if I re-load the forte file, the instrument of my first Instrument Bank does not play anymore. That's really strange!
I always have to load the Kontakt Multi again. That's annoying.

If I re-load the Forte backup file, everything works fine again!

Does anyone have an idea, why Kontakt reacts like that?.

Please feel free to ask me, if my description is not clear!

I made additional analyses.

The reason seemed to be that Forte set every instrument option in the Script Editor of the Kontakt instrument (lead synth of the Kontakt Library) to zero and did not keep the default values. Zero means that both oscillators are deactivated and therefore no sound!

Anyone there with experience about script editor, kontakt and forte? Why does Forte sometimes keep the default scripting settings and sometimes not?

Maximum size for Forte Files

Is there maybe a maximum size for Forte Files?

My guess is that I exceeded the maximum file size and the information of my instrument option settings got lost, when I saved.

Any experience with maximum size of files?

There is no artificial maximum size. You will eventually run out of memory on your PC (and that can be affected by 32 vs. 64 bit Windows too).
