not an issue but a solution to playing preshow music

Postby rrgane » Sun Sep 02, 2012 5:09 pm

So i have been tasked to playing the preshow 'house music' .. i tried in earnest to explain that my rig was not ProTools or a Mag track, but i guess since i have the only computer it all fell on deaf ears..

Anyway, i did a bit of exploring and found a great little plugin called Sam!Solo1.1 that allows one to trigger a 'one shot' wav file and stop it with the same key. Just in case anyone else is similarly burdend.

Hi,

Yes, SAM!Solo and it's bigger brother Sam!2.2 (multiple players) are much used and discussed here. It's a nifty little sample player that behaves well. (I use it for the click track to the drummer).

This being said, most soundcards I know of have simultaneous ASIO and Wave support, so there's no problem firing up Windows Media Player, Mixxx or whatever while Forte runs, the main problem being to get the levels right, pre-show music level as set in WMP is in my case between 3 (soft) and 6 (quite loud) on a scale of 100..... difficult to manage with a mouse!

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.
