Forte 2 and FreeG question

Postby Bruce » Sat Jan 01, 2011 7:53 pm

I'm new to Forte 2. I just started setting it up. May I say that I love this software and I'm very encourage by how stable it is. Great job. I'm trying to use FreeG as either a Bus volume control or instrument volume control. I have had no luck in getting it to respond to CC automation. Has anybody determined what CC FreeG's main volume slider maps to?. I have read on this forum where others are doing this. Any help would be appreciated.

Happy New Year

Welcome and Happy New Year too!

You need to map a CC number to the plugin parameter: remapping is explained in the manual....

Dirk
Life would be much easier if I had the source code.

Hi Bruce!

What did you do that it works? I have the same problem I think.

I inserted Free G into an output bus and tried to control the Free G fader with MIDI CC7. But it doesn't work. I have already routed the MIDI channel to the Free G on the MIDI-Routing rider and of course I mapped the CC7 to the FreeG. But it still does not work for me. I also tried MIDI CC11, which is the expression MIDI CC, but that also does not work.

What am I doing wrong?

Hope you can help me.

Thank you.

Now it works.

What a stupid mistake. I used the wrong MIDI input! :-)

freeG has a very nice GUI, but forte's own automated fader is zipper-noise-free.
so if you use it with an expression pedal, the brainspawn fader is better!

@ fab

No, I use it on 2 busses to control these 2 busses with 1 fader of my Axiom 61.
