(Symptohm) Melohman patches and Scenes

Postby fab » Fri Apr 20, 2007 11:11 am

I am demoing Symptohm, which sounds and plays really impressive.
It seems that Scene changes work only for the "Metapatch" itself, but the Melohman Subpatches you can morph between are not affected by Scene changes - Dirk has mentioned something like that before concerning Minimonsta.

Is that a (Symptohm) bug or a limitation/incompatibilty of Forte and the Melohman concept? That would be a shame, because it seems such an exciting thing for live playing.

- this thread was about about symptohm not recalling metapatches on scene load; apparently, this is by design. scenes will only recall single presets. the work-around for using the melohman functionality is excluding symptohm from scene change and sending program change on scene change instead of saving vst data in the scene -

BUT in symptohm, a bunch of general settings (midi channel, melohman octave, mappings in program change table) are not recalled on RACK load.

mike, you recommended once to try different settings in the forte preference file (i do not remember the name right now) - i am afraid i did not totally understand what i need to do.

is there a chance to fix this ? or how do i go about these settings?

thanks,

fab

Hello together

The same problem exist with follow Plugins:
Wallander-Instruments and Omnisphere (Spectrasonics)

A possible solution is: You can tie in Chainer (Xlutop) as VST-Plugin, then Programmchanges and all Parameter-Settings works very well.

Best wishes :D

thanks remo -

could you explain this a little ? do you send Program Change commands to chainer then ? why is this better than sending them directly to symptohm?

does using chainer solve the problem of global settings (like midi channel, melohman octave and mode) not being saved in a rack?

Hi Fab
apology my English is unfortunately very bad

the Chainer remembers the attitudes of the Plugins - Forte doesn't remember with some Plugins.
That is the reason - why Chainer tie in in Forte and so the memory is given for the Plugins.

Best greetings

ah ok, thanks. don't worry about the english, many of us "global english pidgin" speakers - myself, too!

i do not have chainer, but i will try this with energy xt.

mike, maybe this gives a clue as to what could cause the problem ?

true, when symptohm is loaded inside eXT, global settings are remembered, so it is something on forte's side.

reaper does it right and so does energyXT 2. why can't forte? please!

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.

It's all good. I did find the root cause of this and it will be fixed soon.
