[REQUEST] Option to include Scene Description in Scene View2

Hi guys, I really like the look of the new Scene Viewer 2. Nice and clean, however I have a request; In the legacy Scene Viewer (Forte 2) the "Description" was also displayed. I took this opportunity to use the field as notes for songs (I play in lots of bands, some of which we don't get m...

Re: Migrated to Trial Forte 3 64bit - Newbie confusion

Clean Install of Forte 3 x86 and not seeing the same errors now so alls good. Well, having some issues with loading old racks (Absynth 4 seems to be the culprit) but will raise another thread about this (crash logs already sent).

Thanks Dirk - a bright voice in the dark as always :)

Re: OP-X Pro II Won't Show GUI (Newbee Q)

Again, I'm assuming you have Forte 3/64 installed - I'm actually having a very similar issue with MANY of my VSTs. I will be trying the below when I get home - this may help you too: Quoted from jBridge Troubleshooting ( http://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/jbridge-troubleshooting/ ) 14 – “I am getti...

Re: Migrated to Trial Forte 3 64bit - Newbie confusion

One quick question (after a few rounds with Google). If my Windows 7 64bit laptop only has 4GB RAM, then as I understand it, running a 64bit application (e.g. Forte 3 64bit) will not actually provide me with any additional benefit (with regards to physical memory anyway)? Is that correct? So I may a...

Re: Migrated to Trial Forte 3 64bit - Newbie confusion

I think that is probably the way ahead for me (32 bit version). I simply have no idea if I even have any 64bit VSTs - I like the idea of more RAM available but if I don't know what I have I guess it can't be that important (and assume if and when I do start making use of 64bit VSTs I can simply inst...

Migrated to Trial Forte 3 64bit - Newbie confusion

Hi guys, So I'm trying out the 64bit Forte 3 (trial) and seem to be having some real problems. I selected the Migrate from Forte 2 option when installing then, seeing that the VST folders was empty (I know, I didn't check the VST plugins tab) re-selected all the VST folders for my plugins and starte...

Re: Map MIDI Controller to Forte Controls

Making some more progress and fairly happy with what I have setup. I am having some issues with AuxBus and clipping (digital distortion I think) but will post separately with these - I think more of a basic routing question than specific to Forte/AuxBus. I do still have those outstanding questions w...

Re: Map MIDI Controller to Forte Controls

Ok - making better progress now and have a Control Surface that works for me now. I'm using Group.Channel (Instrument) instead of Module so the first fader (farthest left) controls the 1st Instrument regardless of how many busses. But I have a few questions: 1. Why would someone use Group.MuteOn and...

Re: Map MIDI Controller to Forte Controls

Hooray for Atari (C-Lab) Notator! Hurrah for Ensoniq SQ1! Oh, those were the good old days!! (Sorry, overcome by a bit of nostalgia there. I'm over it now.) Have a nice day. :) Hehe... I loved the Ensoniq. Used to have a Mirage too - an incredible 128k RAM (I think) gave you almost 6 seconds sampli...

Re: Map MIDI Controller to Forte Controls

I'm quite sure that it's the displayed order that counts: if you set up a CS definition, but you change the order of modules, the CS definition needs to be manually updated because it does refer to the module rank, not it's name, or otherwise an absolute reference. That's good - that's how I'd pref...

Re: Map MIDI Controller to Forte Controls

Right... Gig went really well and, while I was a little nervous about what would happen when using Forte live (I'd built up quite a few 'layers' and multiple splits, each song was a breeze... Tra-la-la-la... Du-de-dum-de-dum (that's supposed to be me playing keys but better expressed as "rarrrg...

Re: Map MIDI Controller to Forte Controls

Thanks for that. I have indeed now found the file and have, as originally suggested, blushed a little at the simplicity  Now I can access the file I'll try adding the XML from the Novation Automap thread and adjust the Device name (in the XML directly) and amend the Input CC#, MIDI Ch etc in t...

Re: Map MIDI Controller to Forte Controls

Hi Mike, Thanks for the response... Go to Options|Control Surfaces, Click "Add..." and see if your newly define surface is availabe as a type of control surface to add. Then assign a MIDI input port to it and press OK. Please see the manual for more details on this. I have tried this and I...

Re: Map MIDI Controller to Forte Controls

Hmm... Alas I just cannot find that file anywhere - I've tried a search for the filename ('MyControlSurfaceDefinitions.xml') and I don't have that file path described (I tried scouting about for anything remotely like it but I don't even see an AppData folder - perhaps as this is a trial version? Or...

Map MIDI Controller to Forte Controls

Hi, I've given this a real go. Done lots of searches through this forum and manuals but really struggling with something which I hope, when I am laughingly provided an answer that will make me blush with embarrassment, is fairly easy to resolve. Setup as follows: PC Windows 7 (64bit) M-Audio Axiom 6...

Re: Why use Forte 2 instead of Cubase?

Thanks for that link - the AuxBuseSet seems like exactly what I need. I am now having a little trouble with the setup I am trying to achieve which I hope someone can help with. I am happy to open a new post if needed but here goes anyway: 1. The first thing is, Forte has picked up my VSTi's that com...

Why use Forte 2 instead of Cubase?

This isn't intended on being confrontational, but I will be using laptop and soft-synths for a pending live performance and was intending on using Cubase as the host however I was steered to Forte via other reviews and countless Google searches. So my question is, if I already have Cubase what are t...
