I use a tablet as well...but an Android tablet. That has TouchOSC and Lemur. Windows apps that do the same are a bit harder to find it seems. What are the instruments settings in the subsequent scene?

The module should be unmuted. In addition you should set the behavior of the module to "No" in it's Scene Commands tab.

Anyone here versed in CSS for SceneView?

I'm wanting to make some adjustments to SceneView. At my resolution, when the mixer is displayed (not hidden), the song title gets cut off and is only half displayed.

Anyone here have some knowledge of CSS to help me make adjustments? Or has anyone already made a custom SceneView?

CTRL+U updates the current scene. I use Bome's MIDI translator to convert MIDI CC messages to keystroke macro's. There are probably other programs that can do this as well (MIDIOX?). Add the faders to all plugins, then trim the rack.
Then use the rack editor to disable bypass etc. on all the instances.

That's what I do in these cases, at least...

I can confirm that Kontakt indeed doesn't like being called when loading.

Even with all samples purged, doing fast scene changes with Kontakt set to anything other than "do not load per scene"/"No" will crash it.

What option are you using in the Scene Commands tab for each plugin? "Auto" or "No"?

Make sure you set this to "No" for every plugin (instruments as well as FX) and uncheck all checkmarks on the Scene Commands tab.

Another possible advantage, that I've never had occur thankfully..
If your controller dies at the gig, god forbid, any available controller (another band's for instance) will easily substitute. Just reroute the new controller to the virtual port in MIDIOX ;)

If EHco has a straight MIDI through option (never looked into it), that would indeed work. But...changing your physical ports to the virtual ports as I described is not hard in forte. Hmmm... you could load multiple different instances in a kontakt bank and switch between them using program changes.
Or send init values to the instrument upon scene change. You can set those up in the controller list in the instrument modules midi settings.

In the general options/preferences, in the plugin options, you can add plugins to not change their data during scene changes.
You can add whatever sampler plugin your using (kontakt, halion, etc) to this list and it will remain the same over all scenes, except for MIDI routing of course...

I use the same trick as JulienS..

Another advantage of this is that you can use any other USB controller with forte without having to adapt the rack. Just connect the new USB controller port to the virtual MIDI port in MIDI-OX (or Bome's MIDI Translator in my case).

I use it and have no issues with it (latest forte beta + latest Kontakt update).
As long as you excluse Kontakt from changing sounds with scene changes (plugin settings).

I think you might be confusing MIDI program change message with MIDI CC messages. Even though the insert doesn't register pc's it will respond to midi controllers to control for example rotary speed in real time. Thanks speedinator! Found out (after the internal service errors we're remedied) that the Lemur template wasn't used with forte but with another DAW, so that's a dead end. I'm also working with someone to find a working solution for this using a python script that reads the text file with scene name...

There also appears to be a Lemur template for Mackie Control that displays the scene names (read it in a post on this forum, but can't find it now due to the internal server errors :() Isn't there any way to hijack those sysex messages or something else to get those scene names to the TouchOSC bridge?

Mike, does this mean forte can now send the current scene name to any other device?

I'd like to use TouchOSC to control forte, but there would have to be a way for forte to communicate the current scene to a label in the TouchOSC template.

Yep, use disabling of midi channels.

Also, make sure that plugins that change their settings/presets slowly (for instance samplers like Omnisphere) have the same blob (ie settings) in the first and second scene to avoid glitches in the sound during change.
