Re: Does a "Save As" also trim the rack at the same time?

Save As does not Trim the rack. If you were to call up each scene, and "update" every scene, that would be the equivalent of Trimming the rack. This is not done during a Save As.

Re: Signal indicators show activity, but no sound comes out.

Trimming the rack is similar to creating your 200 new scenes. When you trim, it basically re-saves that scene, including asking for fresh blob (sound) data for each instrument and plug-in. Then it loads the next scene, and re-saves it, and so on through all your scenes. So that might help. Otherwise...

Hmm. How can you tell only two are sounding? Can you mute the two that are working, and then nothing comes from the 3rd? Have you checked to make sure there is no weirdness in terms of CC11 (expression) or CC7 (volume)? Do you have a midi expression pedal in this setup? You'll want to make sure it's...

Re: Plugin-Manager shows plugins under "ignored files" which don't exist anymore or have a different path than vst folde

I think this is a bug. The way to get rid of these instruments is to edit the plugins.xml (for 32 bit forte) or plugins64.xml (for 64 bit forte) file. You can get to these files by starting forte, then going to Tools, then "View INI files and application folder." FIRST, BACKUP THE EXISTING...

Dougalex, I think this is actually related to Windows more than forte, but that's a bit of a guess on my part. I have experienced the same thing at times. I think it does. Sometimes when I don't have my main rig set up, and I need to rearrange the set list, I'll fire up forte on a different laptop, and load in safe mode, bypassing all VSTi's loading, and use hardware offline, so basically there's NOTHING loading except the XML file. Just use Windows Explorer and navigate manually to c:\program files (x86)\brainspawn, then go into your forte directory and trying running from there. You should have the x86 ve...

Bigalminal, I think what MikeG is saying is that you have to open the .rcf files that you said you found in an XML editor, and see if you can see what's obviously wrong with the file format. The .rcf file is actually an .xml file with a different file extension. You have corruption (or malformation)...

Hard to say. Do you have the exact same sound card / buffer settings in forte 3 and 4? Sounds like maybe your buffer is set really small in forte 3 and perhaps that's causing some distortion? But without much more information, hard to say why they would be different.
