Re: Forte 3 64bit and Rewire

Some more investigations leads me to think that a complete clean install of Ableton might solve your problem. That involves deleting preferences cfg files, index and cache, and manually deleting ReWire.dll from the system so that Ableton will re-install the latest version.

Re: Forte 3 64bit and Rewire

Hi I don't have Ableton. But I can make a guess. From the symptoms you describe, Ableton uses a plugin it installs along with it's audio engine, that should be registered by forte. If forte doesn't load the plugin, Ableton will not start in Rewire mode. From what you told us, forte sees a 32bit Able...

It should show up as an instrument, there's no specific action needed, if Rewire is enabled in the client app it should be available in the instrument plugin list.

Well, basically, that IS what Windows Defender does. So the best thing to do at this point, is to take a look at your Windows Event logs. Maybe (in fact, there is a fair chance there is) something has been logged and might point you into the right direction.

Anything special in Windows event log? Looks like when forte opens/closes a driver WD takes action thinking the driver is malware/spyware. Does this happen with other apps that use the same drivers (audio/midi/ASIO whatever you configured forte for)? Othe possibility: you actually DO have spyware on...

Re: VST3 plugins (still) not supported in Forte?

It's totally stupid to produce "only" VST3 plugins, given that the VST3 SDK, as I mentioned a while ago in this thread, offers a wrapper to build 2.4 plugins from the same code. It's just a matter of minutes to build additional 2.4 versions.

Mike, There are many reasons why one would like to use channel strips. To name a few: 1: forte's level controls are fixed post-insert. A channelstrip can be inserted both pre, post, and anywhere else in the chain. This is especially important when using AuxBusses. AuxBus sends are generally POST fad...

Forte doesn't have any control over that. It just has a clock running, which the VST plugin can retrieve. Any internal settings of the plugin such as looping are handled by the plugin itself. Because of this, we can't really ask for complete transport control. It would already be great if we could t...

As far as I can recall, you can choose the VST to control from the Remote SL itself as well. The UI doesn't need to be open and focused. If the Automap server is running, it'll establish contact with automapped VST's when the host loads them.
