Forte 3 64bit not working for me (nor is the Forum Board)

I want to use guitar rig as well as some of the new features in Forte 3 so I downloaded the trial onto a backup computer. I use Forte 2 on my main computer on stage quite frequently and am not willing to fix what isn't broke til I know the fix is able to run stable. One issue however is that my back...

Midimate II? Flexible I/O configs in a cable only interface

Been looking for the simplest way to get one midi input into my usb. By simplest , I mean smallest/least parts, and not that I am too stupid to figure it out ;) I bought a cheapo (>$10) midi I/O just to have something to try while I research the interface I will want to use on stage. It is USB at on...

Re: ECHO: I can't make my Motif Rack switch to a "multi" pat

Another Motif Rack question. Their manual might make good kindling, but I am beginning to question even that. I hook up via usb and echo gives me 8 midi out options relating to the motif. Motif-R-1, motif-R-2, etc through motif-R-8. Other than Motif-R-1, they don't seem to do anything. I have tried ...

ECHO: I can't make my Motif Rack switch to a "multi" patch

Hello all, I am using Forte 2 performer. I use Echo to send to my Motif rack module which I use in combination with VSTi's on my laptop. I know that the Motif can be used to run up to 16 of it's voices at once by use of it's "multi" patches. I have gotten everything set as I need it to be ...

Automation in Forte 2

In searching for a way to toggle the insert bypass i found posts promising automation of Forte 2's parameters such as Mute, volume, solo, and (most importantly to me) insert bypass. I have Forte 2 now and do not see anyway to control these parameters. Is there something I am overlooking or are these...

Re: expression / volume pedal woes!

Went to the music store to buy the parts to make a pretty little adapter. The cost of $30 in parts made me change my mind about the "pretty" part, went home empty handed and made a Frankenstein adapter from old parts and electrical tape (could not find my soldering iron). Works like a char...

Re: expression / volume pedal woes!

Thanks Volker, this is information I did not know! It is also information that the "professionals" at Guitar Center didn't know (referring to my branch only). I should have expected that from the place that, when trying to buy a high G harmonica, wanted to argue that one octave up from G w...

expression / volume pedal woes!

Driving me nuts!! What is it about expression pedals that makes them unreliable and confusing? Seems like a fairly simple thing to do, send value range from 0 - 127 and nothing else! The only ones that ever work for me are the 2 digital ones on my FCB1010 (midi controller foot pedal) and these have ...

DEP (Data Execution Protection) Error when starting Forte

I have a new problem with a new laptop running windows XP 32 SP3 bit and cant find anything here on the forum about it. It doesn't seem to effect Forte's ability to run stable (its a new problem though, haven't tested long). The issue is a DEP (Data Exicution Prevention) warning that pops up wheneve...

Re: Play audio file or track how ??

also forgot to mention, one ability that forte does lack is the ability to direct audio out to two different hardware outs simultaneously . This is easily gotton around by downloading this great aux bus set plugin for free at http://www.solidsoundstudio.net/index.html You will find Dirk's plug-ins a...

Re: using NANOKONTROL in Forte

there is a midi learn function but i am embarrassed to say that I have not even used it yet, it would prolly save me a lot of time, i think i will make that a goal of mine today. I always just manually remap the controls. First you need to know what midi channels AND CC values each control on the Na...

Re: Play audio file or track how ??

this i s not something i have done but there does exist VST media/sample players. There is also included in forte an "audio input" module that can accept audio from your sound cards input and i believe there is software available that will route any media player to appear as a hardware inp...

in the midi routing tab for each module, you can choose to disable or re-route any controller including ones that transmit program changes.

Re: Sending program change to external keyboard ??

you will need to use brainspawns "Echo" in conjunction with Forte to do this. There may be other software that can do this as well but this is what i use and it works very well.

Laptop power supply causing nasty digital buzz

This isn't a Forte related question other than all my gear is ran by the program. The problem I am having (and have had in the past with other applications) is that when hooked up to the P.A. and amps etc.., I got a nasty, computery sounding buzz/noise through all the monitors (probably the mains al...

Re: Multiple output pairs used for same synth

Dirk,
You are one of my hero's in the world of midi! I woke up several times last night thinking that it should not be that difficult to send to all four outputs at once. Reading your reply this morning made my day! Thanks a ton!

Re: Multiple output pairs used for same synth

So glad you asked, I love talking about my ideas and hearing new ones but did not want to go on and on over a simple question. I plan on using output pair 3/4 to feed FOH with my keyboards only, and output 1/2 to feed my monitor mix (a floor wedge for now, in ears in the near future). Input one on m...

Multiple output pairs used for same synth

Does anyone know a way to route the outputs of one or more modules to more than one stereo pair output on my Edirol FA-66. My previous 2 sound cards came with routing software that ran seperate from forte but the Edirol FA-66 doesn't seem to have such software. Is there a way to route it in Forte or...

Can't midi already be mapped to the effects? I run guitar rig as an effect and I control any parameter I want within the guitar rig effect with the buttons/faders/knobs on my keyboards and foot controller by using forte's remap function. Maybe it is something different you are tring to do and I am j...

Reason crashes forte

I'm using Reason 3.0 and Forte 1.6 build 92. The only thing in my Reason rack is an NN-XT advanced sampler running a clavinet sound from the Reason Factory Sound Bank. I am able to use Reason if I have just added it to Forte and it will run fine till I finish the song (in this instance I also run Gu...
