Kontakt is only used for the B3 sounds -I use the less demanding Xpand2 for everything else.

Everything runs in Forte 4 and out through a Behringer XENYX Q802 USB 2 mixer that has a wireless mic receiver plugged into it.

It all works great with no latency in the instruments but the vocal latency is terrible because it's coming into Forte via USB2 to add the reverb and effects and then back out to the mixer.

I do have SolidSoundStudio's bus routing plugins - could one of these be used to get around this problem?

Any one know how I would set it up?

Thanks!

Hardware:
- small "embedded" bare-bone fanless PC box, i7 4 core (8 Threads), 4*2.5 GHz, 16 GB ram, 256 GB SSD
- TASCAM US 144 (supposedly to be replaced by a Behringer UMC 204 (if they manage to get a working driver), or a NI Komplete Audio 6, soon)
- no keyboard, mouse, monitor (if not for configuration "at home")

- Yamaha KX 88
- Yamaha WX7 (not yet started reactivating it from a 15 Year sleep)

Software:
- Windows 7 (stripped down as far as possible)
- Forte 3
- NI "Kontact 5 Players" (including some free stuff by NI)
- NI "Alicia's Keys"
- NI "Scarbee Mark 1"
- NI "Vintage Organs"
- 4front "epiano" (free)
- Pianoteq 4 (trying it right now, seems great and very versatile, regarding this, the "players" edition plus "electric piano" is not too expensive)
- NI FM8 (considering, it's rather expensive for the rather limited use I have for it)
- SampleModeling "The Saxophones" (Once I get along with the WX7)
- some free VSTs for special purposes (e.g Soundfont player for firing Wave Files with a key stroke)

Behringer Powerplay Ha4700
Midisolutions Dual Footswitch controller (for change scenes)

Software : Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit, Brainspawn Forte 2.2.14, NI Komplete 7, MOTU CueMix FX

Audio Hardware : NI Guitar Rig Mobile for guitar input, guitar (left channel) and keys (right channel) output, MOTU 896mk3 for in-ears monitor mixes via CueMix FX or a Behringer BCF2000 control surface. Built-in DIs for guitar and keys output to the P.A.

Midi Controller : M-Audio Oxygen 88 (via USB) with Sustain Pedal and Roland FV-500L Expression Pedal

Backup System : Line 6 Pocket Pod (guitar), Roland SC-55 Sound Canvas (keys)

Wireless : Shure UT1 / UT4A for guitar, Shure P4T (2) / P4R (4) for in-ear monitors

Forte Setup : Hosting NI Guitar Rig 4 and five instances of Kontakt (Keyboards, Strings, Horns, Wind, and Other… about 40 instruments total). All Kontakt instruments load samples at Forte start-up only (currently about 2.8GB). All instruments are running in DFD mode with no noticeable ill effects. Each bread-and-butter sound (Piano, Rhodes, Hammond, Pianet, etc.) has its own scene. Additional scenes for the more complex songs containing layers, splits, etc. All layers, splits, transposition, instrument selection, etc. done by Forte midi capabilities.

Midi Controller Notes : Most buttons, sliders, knobs on the Oxygen 88 are involved in the control of Guitar Rig and Kontakt. Examples:
○ Tap tempo driving Forte's tempo so it can be used in Guitar Rig and Kontact both
○ Panic button
○ About 12 of the buttons send program changes to access bread-and-butter scenes
○ Four of the knobs control guitar drive, compression, treble boost, modulation depth
○ Sliders work as drawbars for Hammond and Vox Continental organ sounds
○ Expression pedal can be used for both guitar and / or keyboards

Backup System Notes : Rack includes a patch bay wired so that insertion of two patch cables substitutes the backup sound sources for the forte-generated guitar and keyboard sounds. If the Forte system goes down, the show can go on with basic guitar and keyboard sounds with a switchover time of a few seconds.

In-Ears Monitor System Notes : MOTU unit chosen for its stand-alone mixer features. CueMix FX running on the laptop can control the mixes and so can the Behringer BCF2000 operating in baby HUI emulation mode. The MOTU will keep going if the laptop dies. With CueMix FX and the BCF2000 unable to control mixes, the front panel knobs are still able to adjust faders in all four mixes.

Performance : The computer seems to be absolutely loafing. None of the CPU meters I can see go above 20%. I barely ever see the Kontact disk activity meters budge, even though I'm running every instrument in DFD mode.

just a short summary of my setup:

- Windows 7 vlited down to 4GB (booting incl Forte rack 40 seconds)
- Samsung 64GB SSD

- Forte Performer version 2.0 latest stable version (2.2.14) with
- Native Instruments Akoustik Piano, Elektrik Piano, B4 II, Pro53
- Steinberg Hypersonic XXL
- MP3play VST (for training at home playing along to mp3's)
- Sam solo (wave file player VSTi for intros)

- ESI U46XL soundcard (USB) with 4in/6out (routing one FOH main signal back into Forte for my personal inear-mix)
- selfmade 61 waterfall Keyboard with soundcard and Novation Remote SL37 controller board integrated (plus laptop holder and power supplies)
- Doepfer PK-88 weighted 88 masterkeyboard
- Yamaha FC-7 swell (expression) pedal for Organ volume
- Fatar double pedal, one for sustain, one for rotary slow/fast
- Ultimate VS-80 stand

At home I have a 22" monitor connected as second monitor for Forte's SceneView and configuration plus some Edirol monitors.
Live I play using in-ear which I can mix independendly (FOH main signal against my own signal) with the Novation board and using mainly just the SceneView for my sheets I have added to every song.

I have attached two pictures, one is showing the set at home, one live on stage.

Best regards
