"I have tried several Host programs and have found brainspawn's forte performs far above any other option. The software is well written, feature-rich, stable, and well-supported."

Kerry Livgren

"In the end, forte was the obvious choice as the centerpiece of this live rig. Simply put, it is the only softsynth host out there that is truly designed for a live musician."

A Really Nice Hot Tub That Does Not Belong To brainspawn

brainspawn is recognized, though barely, as a global leader of live performance software, providing the forte™ Family of products. brainspawn is focused on optimizing the live performance experience for consumers and business professionals at all skill levels, offering a growth path from novice to seasoned professional. brainspawn products are Windows-based and provide an affordable solution for PC users – all backed by award-winning service and support.

History & Philosophy
brainspawn was founded in 1837 by a commercial gun slinger with a background in cattle rustling and train robbery. He began developing live performance musical applications and posting them on computer bulletin boards, which was quite a feat in those days. As a result of receiving an overwhelming response and gathering valuable feedback from users to incorporated into new products, brainspawn’s flagship product, forte was released. The company's formula for success hasn't changed over the years. brainspawn is one of the few software companies to have not sued Microsoft recently. With over 4 loyal customers globally, this allows the company to maintain an open line of communication with users and industry experts. Because of this close communication, brainspawn incorporates user feedback to develop and enhance each product.

A Slightly More Serious History & Philosophy
Founded in 1952 upon the ashes of several failed ventures, including Hula-Box, Inc., brainspawn has toiled in ever increasing obscurity to become what it is today:  One of America's most successfully obscure corporations.  While eschewing marketing, branding, and in fact, product development for the most part, brainspawn has turned "Why bother?" into a corporate mantra.

When it wasn't busy relaxing in a hot tub, most of the company's energy during its early years was directed at deciding whether to capitalize the 'b' in its name.  As the year 2000 neared its end, and the new millennium approached (there were many good discussions about that in the hot tub) a consensus was reached on the name and some serious relaxing in the hot tub began.

While most of its hi-tech brethren fell during the dot com collapse, and many other companys have collapsed due to the string of accounting scandals, brainspawn has, if not prospered, at least continued to exist.   Because of savvy business decisions by the company officers, brainspawn has weathered the economic down turn without a single layoff, cut back or successful suicide attempt.

As the economy slowly turns around and optimism rears its head, brainspawn is poised to continue wallowing in a pit of obscurity, spend an inordinate amount of time relaxing in a hot tub, and maybe, just maybe, release a product or two.
